I grew up in Minnesota and Florida, and subsequently resided at no less than eighteen different addresses in the UK, Japan, France, China and the USA over a span of 25 years.  No matter whether I wear a corporate necktie or a faded Billabong t-shirt, I remain fascinated by the clash of opposites: modern and old, rural and urban, dense and empty, east and west, north and south, beauty and blight. Life's greatest joy has always been in seeing what lies just beyond the next bend, and these photos represent some of what I discovered during purposeful missions as well as aimless wanderings through seventy some countries and lands.

The images displayed here span the pre-digital and digital camera eras. The oldest images come from various scans of the original 35 millimeter negatives, and the scan quality is not always good. Making better quality scans of the older photos is an ongoing project, but I made the decision to include certain images here even though they are grainy or overly pixelated. This will improve over time.
